Three Muses: Out of Bounds (revised)

My previous posting for this challenge didn't display the way it was supposed to. Maybe Blogger has changed its mysterious ways yet again? I tried to post it without a solid background, so the balloons would be outside the frame of the collage ("out of bounds"). But the technique I'd used before (posting it as a .png file with a transparent background) didn't seem to work this time. So I'm trying again in a different way...Here goes...

Take a Word: MAIL ART

One of my favorite themes--create an imaginary embellished piece of mail! And I've used some of my favorite types of images--vintage circus posters and giraffes. The vintage poster images are from the Ringling Museum online website. The labels are from JSIM. The giraffe in the upper left, on the return address label, is my own creation. I know, I'm quirky, but it seems to be a requirement for us creative types! :)

Collage Obsession: Double Vision

I'm hosting the Collage Obsession challenge this week, and I've chosen "double vision" as the theme. Artists are asked to incorporate an image of a couple or a pair--of anything! This theme is close to my heart, since I have an identical twin sister (although of course we are not exactly alike, just very similar, as any pair of twins would say!). I've used a photo of us as children as the basis for this digital collage. Other images are credited to Holliewood Studios.

This month's Soartful challenge will have a Western theme, with colors of brown, cream, and ecru. Since we just visited Austin, Texas, to see our son, I'm still a little bit in a Western frame of mind. I miss the bright Austin sunshine...
