Three Muses: Spring; AND 100 Followers!

I'm ecstatic to see today that the number of my blog followers just went from "99 and holding" to 100! Thank you all for your support; it means SO much to me.

Lettering and Digital Brushes

This is a piece I created during Joanne Sharpe's Letter Love class. This week I started Gail Schmidt's online class on Digital Brushes. A digital brush (or "stamp") is an image in Photoshop Elements that you can quickly place anywhere in a PSE creation with just a click of the mouse. It can be resized or recolored, and the transparency can be altered. So I made a digital brush out of my lettering (originally done in black), recolored it red, and "stamped" it here. Fun!

Three Muses: Two

This week's challenge was to create a piece about couples, partners, or pairs. I digitally colored a black and white photo of my twin sister and me as little girls, and set it against an imaginary background (by rubyblossom). Looking at this piece makes me smile...

Collage Obsession: Leaves

We were given several images of leaves to inspire us, and to incorporate into our collages if we wanted to. Here's the strawberry leaf image provided by Eila (she scanned a real leaf):

 And here's how I incorporated it (and some strawberries) into my digital collage (the leaves are in her hair and in the background). I used the "chalk and charcoal" filter to give it  a hand-sketched look. Image credits: graphicsfairy, artefacts.
