Collage Obsession Challenge 28: "Corsets"

I really enjoyed participating in this week's Collage Obsession challenge! The theme was "corsets." (http://collageobsessionchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/10/co-challenge-28-corset.html ). I decided not to use the image provided (a group of corseted women), but created my collage from other images.

I had fun with this challenge. The image provided (shown beneath my collage) reminded me of the old-time Hollywood musical sets, so I just had to populate it with dancers. Makes me want to get in there and dance too!

Theme Thursday Challenge: Red and Black

Anyone who knows me knows that red and black and white are (is?) one of my favorite color combinations. So I couldn't resist this last challenge for the week. Enjoy the weekend!

Digital Whisper Collage Challenge 20: "Leaf"

The first image above is the collage I created for this week's DW challenge (http://digital-whisper.blogspot.com/2010/10/dw-challenge-19-leaf.html). The inspiration was the single leaf image shown below my collage. I really enjoyed working with this fall color palette!
(I know I've been remiss in not mentioning all the image credits for these collages--I'll try to be better at that.)

Collage Obsession Challenge #27: "Nightmare"

This digital collage is for this week's Collage Obsession challenge (http://collageobsessionchallenge.blogspot.com/2010/10/collage-obsession-challenge-27.html). I wouldn't usually use such dark subject matter, but am trying to stretch my artistic tastes and techniques through these challenges. I blended the original image of the painting with a cloudy sky image (from a personal photo) that I had altered digitally. Then I applied the fresco filter to the whole collage, which increased the fiery (bloody?) atmosphere. The red blotches at the top now look to me like eerie distorted faces watching the gory madness...ugh...

I credit my husband for his help deciding which effects worked best for this collage. Thanks, Nelson!
