Collage Obsession: Solitude
I'm hosting the Collage Obsession challenge this week and have chosen the theme of "Solitude." My collage attempts to interpret solitude as "peaceful reflection and contemplation," rather than the more negative interpretation of "loneliness and isolation" often attributed to this word. I often find solitude essential to true creativity.

Three Muses: Shoes
This theme is appropriate for me right now, since I've been hunting for the perfect shoes to wear to my son's late summer wedding. Ordering online is convenient and fast, but has resulted in box after box of shoes arriving at my house each day, none of which have fit so far. My house looks like a shoe hoarder's home! They will all be returned eventually, and the hunt continues. As my friend in the digital collage below knows, a beautiful and well-fitting shoe is truly something to treasure.

This is a photo I took in Jerusalem of a building at night. I enhanced it with textures and filters.

Sunday Postcard Art: Still Life
I don't know what this collage really means, just that it was a lot of fun to create (with helpful suggestions from my engineer husband). Image credits: holliewood, finecrated, artefacts, google, my photo of foot from Roman ruins in Israel.

Soartful: Signs of Spring
We've all been fervently looking for signs of spring here in Maryland, and meanwhile I am hosting the April challenge at Soartful. So I decided we will create our own signs of spring. Please stop by Soartful and participate, or at least see the pretty art that will be created.
Here's my digital collage, adapted from a "Forsythia" paper collage I once made. I hope to see the real forsythia soon! Happy Spring to all.

Three Muses: Add a Colorful Background to a Black and White Photo
This was a fun challenge for me! I have a seemingly never-ending supply of family photos, most of them of my twin sister and me growing up. Someday I should make up an album of the digital collages I've created with these photos.
The Queen Mary image shown below (Wikimedia Commons) is from the very early 1960's and was taken in New York Harbor. The texture overlay is by Kim Klassen.
