Collage Obsession: Mushrooms

Eila at Collage Obsession has challenged us to do a mushroom-themed collage. I have to admit, I never thought to use mushrooms as art inspiration; but when Eila described picking mushrooms in the forest in Finland (where she lives), I was inspired to create this digital collage. Sunday Postcard Art: Comic Book Heroes/Heroines

Sunday Postcard Art has quite an original, fun theme this week: Comic Book Heroes/Heroines. I had to do some research for this one, and discovered a cool super-heroine that Stan Lee of Marvel created in 1980. I'd never heard of her before, have you? Here she is. All images are from Google Images/Marvel.

I'm Featured on "Pocket Change" Blog-- Best of the Web

I'm so excited that my blog is featured this week in the "Best of the Web" feature on Pocket Change, a shopping/lifestyle blog. Here's a link to their article. I'm going to browse around their site right now-- it looks like there's lots of helpful info there! Thanks for the mention, Pocket Change!

Three Muses Challenge (rethought): Black and White with Touch of Color

Today I was rethinking how to make yesterday's ferris wheel collage more black and white, and less pink, and came up with this version. I think it fits the new Three Muses challenge better.

Collage Obsession and Three Muses Challenges

The theme for Collage Obsession this week is "circus/carnival/amusement park." The Three Muses Challenge asks us this week to create a piece using only black and white and one other color. I've combined both concepts into this digital collage of a Ferris wheel, using an image provided by Anna Corba that I altered considerably.
