Welcome to my blog! I'm a dedicated art dabbler whose motto is: "A Little Color Every Day." Many of the postings on this blog are digital collages I've created for various online art challenges. I also love to do art journaling, rubber stamp carving, mixed media collage, sketching, doodling, portrait drawing, decorative lettering, iPad art, and assorted other happy pursuits. I've recently started showing some of my mixed media art on this blog. I have also led Gelli Plate Printing workshops here in Columbia, Maryland.
NOTE: All of the artwork posted here is the property of its creator, Sherry Pollack. Please do not use any image unless you have my specific permission. I can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
When Marie suggested an altered book for this challenge, I created a "digital altered book." It's a combination of images from two books on London--a Baedeker travel guide, and a book called "Londontown." The resulting book is superimposed on an image of an old London map. Since my maiden name is London, I'm drawn to digital images and ephemera relating to the city :).
This week's CO challenge is to create a collage featuring the letter A. I happened to have created an altered book a while ago with a "Written Word" theme. Somehow a bunch of vintage images of ladies in my stash wanted to masquerade as the letters of the alphabet in the book. I had to listen...they were insistent. The two-page spread below is the "A" page in my altered book. (The other ladies are now clamoring to have their pages posted here...I can only hope that there are more alphabet-themed Collage Obsession challenges in the future.)
