 These houses were digitally collaged with my own patterns and patterns from other sources.  The doors are scanned chipboard doors from Maya Road, altered by me.

Three Muses: Silhouette

Stork image adapted from joessistah. Background consists of two photos that I took at Yellowstone, blended together. I love the way the water in the background peeks through the silhouette and suggests feathers! Another happy accident :).

Take a Word: Organic

In this digital collage, I layered and blended a botanical tulip drawing from vintage moth with an original leafy doodle of my own. The original botanical print was in sepia tones with a little yellow; my leafy sketch was in shades of green on a red background. I like the way the colors of my sketch peek through the flowers, and the way my vines provide a delicate, neutral background for the piece. A fun experiment!

Collage Obsession: Headdress

Quite a challenge this week! We were to incorporate a "headdress" into our collages, taking inspiration from hairdo's of the past. I love these unusual themes, though they tend to keep me up late at night, fooling around with Photoshop Elements. Image of the woman below from magazineart.org. Beehive image from Google images. Three Muses: White Space

This week we were asked to leave some "white space" in our collage (doesn't have to be white, but an open area of one color). This was a real challenge for me! Collage Obsession: Long Hair

An unusual and fun theme for Collage Obsession this week: Long Hair. My collage features a mermaid stamp that I carved (I gave her some temporary hair extensions to fit the theme), and digitally layered Gelli print backgrounds.

Farewell to Soartful: Owl Challenge

After five inspiring years, the Soartful Challenge is ending. I loved being part of the design team with Patti, Peggy, and Sheila, but it was time for us to move on to other creative endeavors. The final theme is "Owls."  Below is my collage. Owl drawing is mine.
