Collage Obsession: Open Challenge

The artists get to choose their own theme for Collage Obsession this week. I've chosen to create a digital collage featuring my own photo of seashells, and a background I created with paint and paper. I applied several PSE 10 effects to create an interesting textured look.

21 Secrets Workshop: Imagine You, with Hali Karla

I signed up for 21 Secrets again this year. I've only taken a few of the classes so far, but one of my favorites was Hali Karla's "Imagine You," in which we were guided in making intuitive mixed media collages. Way outside my comfort zone, so I was flattered that Hali included one of my pieces in a blog posting she did. I'm partial to mermaid angels, myself. The stone mermaid below is adapted from an image found at Wikimedia Commons. I altered and added the wings (from joessistah). Background elements from dover designs and last door down the hall.

Soartful: Night Skies (dark blue, white, silver, etc)

It's my turn this month to host the new Soartful challenge. I've chosen a theme of "Night Skies," with a suggested color scheme of dark blue, white, and silver, and whatever other colors the artist chooses to include. Here's my own creation for this theme. The landscape image is adapted  from a photo I took in Sedona, Arizona.  Other image credits available upon request.
