Collage Obsession: Decorative Text

This week we were challenged to create a collage using the letter "F" in decorative text. I chose a floral motif. Image credits:  "F" shape is my hand-created adaptation from a book on letterforms; other images from dover designs, last door down the hall, and artfreebies.

Another test

seeing if i can load a photo. blogger is telling me i have reached a quota?

testing...

Woke up this morning and Blogger had helpfully redesigned itself. The post I'd scheduled for early this morning didn't post. (Thanks, Blogger!) So I'm testing the "schedule" function...fingers crossed (I seem to be doing a lot of that lately with regard to computer stuff).

Soartful Challenge: Wedding (red, burgundy, green)

Soartful's challenge for the next two weeks has a wedding theme, with colors of red, burgundy, and green. Alica has chosen this theme because her wedding anniversary was this week, and these were her wedding colors. You can click on the title of this posting (above) to see her wedding bouquet and the other creations from the design team.

Here's my contribution, below. Image credits for this digital collage (which I truly enjoyed creating!) are: deviant scrap, flickr creative commons, irene alexeeva, rubyblossom, last door down the hall.

Three Muses: Vintage Bathing Beauties

My computer appears to be fixed, thanks to our amazing local computer guru. Thanks, Robin! Image credits for this digital collage are: holliewood, dover, deviantscrap, vintage moth, flickr collage images  (mrs inman). This collage was inspired by Billy's Subs, a restaurant our family used to frequent many years ago in Ocean City, Maryland.

Testing alternate method for posting images

This is what I"m doing right now re computer issues. I can post images from very limited sources, it seems (if this works).

Computer Problems :(

If anyone's reading this, just want to let you know that I won't be posting images for a while. My computer crashed big-time (and I bought it only last fall!). It's interfering with my use of Photoshop Elements, among other things. So I'll see you when I see you!

Three Muses: Steampunkerie

Another Steampunk theme! Here's my world-traveling steampunk lady, looking more than ready to escape from the dreary city. Image credits: pepin press, deviant scrap, holliewood, graphicsfairy, kim klassen.

Take a Word: Skinny

The "skinny" theme refers to the size of the piece we were asked to create this week: 3 inches by 5 inches. Of course, the group of ladies I wanted to put into this collage had to be pretty skinny too, as you can see. Image credits: hero arts, artfreebies, stampington, obsidian dawn .

Soartful Challenge: Rainbows; and Collage Obsession : Sun

It's my turn to host the Soartful Challenge again this week. The theme is Rainbows. Participants were asked to incorporate a rainbow image in their art, or just use the colors of the rainbow. You can click on the title of my posting, above, to go to the Soartful site and see what our creative team has come up with--and participate, please! "Hands-on" and digital art are welcome. The challenge runs for two weeks.

Here's my digital collage, which I'm also submitting to Collage Obsession's theme for the upcoming week, with a "Sun" theme. Image credits are: Fiddlette Designs, Flickr Creative Commons (geebee2007), and my own painted rainbow image.

Expand the Possibles: Conceal

The very talented Glenys has started a new challenge blog, Expand the Possibles. She has a list of words that we can choose from as themes for a piece of art. I'm so happy to see a new challenge concept out there! Here's a link to her blog if you'd like to participate (please do!) or see what others are doing:  http://expandthepossibles.blogspot.com/

The first word I've chosen to illustrate with digital collage is "Conceal." Image credits: artefacts, holliewood, milla; and flickr creative commons (Eddi07) for the image of the moon.

Collage Obsession: Share

This was a difficult theme for me to illustrate. How do you show the concept of "sharing?" Then I came upon this image of three polar bears sharing a seesaw (from a vintage circus poster).  If one of them decided to jump off, it would upset the balance of the others. Who knew polar bears could be so considerate? They're even sharing the spotlight!

Take a Word: Eggs

This digital collage is dedicated to Carol Zika, my art journaling teacher, who encourages us to Zentangle on eggs. Image credits: graphicsfairy, rubyblossom, holliewood, irene alexeeva, last door down the hall.  The Zentangles are my own design.
