Here's my digital collage for this theme (masks, carnivals, and circus themes are my favorites!). The main mask image (altered by me) is from njj4 at Flickr Creative Commons. The background is from a "Masquerade" digital collage I recently created. Most of the images in that collage were from Vintage Images and Flickr Creative Commons.

Three Muses: Spring; AND 100 Followers!
I'm ecstatic to see today that the number of my blog followers just went from "99 and holding" to 100! Thank you all for your support; it means SO much to me.
The Three Muses challenge this week is "Spring." Here's my digital interpretation-- lively, colorful, and happy. The lettering is my own design. Other credits: rubyblossom, holliewood, artfreebies.com, obsidian dawn.

Collage Obsession: White
I'm hosting this week's challenge at Collage Obsession (please click on title of this posting, above, to visit the site and participate). The theme is "White"- a difficult challenge for some of us, who love to use lots of color in our art. Here's my digital collage.
Image credits: holliewood, anna corba, my stenciled background using coffee break design stencils. Stone carving behind the statue is from a photo I took of Roman ruins at Cesarea, Israel.

So-Artful Challenge: Here Comes Spring!
Our spring challenge was to use the colors pink, blue, and green. I layered one of my own painted/stenciled backgrounds with a floral image from Dover Designs. Happy Spring to all who are welcoming this season!

Lettering and Digital Brushes
This is a piece I created during Joanne Sharpe's Letter Love class. This week I started Gail Schmidt's online class on Digital Brushes. A digital brush (or "stamp") is an image in Photoshop Elements that you can quickly place anywhere in a PSE creation with just a click of the mouse. It can be resized or recolored, and the transparency can be altered. So I made a digital brush out of my lettering (originally done in black), recolored it red, and "stamped" it here. Fun!

Three Muses: One Thing of Beauty
The butterfly image is one that I created for a previous digital art challenge. This time I placed her in a very simple setting. Image credits: dover designs, holliewood, milla, rubyblossom.

What do you think? Does the little girl look a little spooky to you? She does to me.

More Letter Love, and something exciting
I'm so honored that Joanne Sharpe, our Letter Love teacher and guru, posted some examples of the classwork on her blog today, and included two of my pages! There were over 400 students in her online class. Imagine that! Here's a link to her blog posting. Thanks so much, Joanne!
And here are larger versions of the two pages she featured.

Sunday Postcard Art: Feathered Friends
This digital collage incorporates my own bird, border, leaf and flower designs; and my own painted/stamped/stenciled background. The script image is from Stampington. This was fun to create!
So-Artful Challenge: Harlequin- black and white
Here's my digital creation for the new So-Artful Challenge. You can click on the title of this blog posting above to visit the So-Artful blog and see what our design team and other participants have created, AND to participate in the challenge yourself! The challenge lasts for two weeks.

Three Muses: Two
This week's challenge was to create a piece about couples, partners, or pairs. I digitally colored a black and white photo of my twin sister and me as little girls, and set it against an imaginary background (by rubyblossom). Looking at this piece makes me smile...

Collage Obsession: Leaves
We were given several images of leaves to inspire us, and to incorporate into our collages if we wanted to. Here's the strawberry leaf image provided by Eila (she scanned a real leaf):
And here's how I incorporated it (and some strawberries) into my digital collage (the leaves are in her hair and in the background). I used the "chalk and charcoal" filter to give it a hand-sketched look. Image credits: graphicsfairy, artefacts.
